Unlike many companies you get software from, Subsume Technologies does not sell software products. Instead, we sell software services. We do no-nonsense custom development. We don't market, we don't package, and we don't get rich from upgrades. You get what you pay for; nothing less.
Of course, not everyone can afford custom development and not all custom development is interesting enough for us to work on. That's where the Serviceware concept (similar to Freeware or Shareware) comes in, allowing us to make the ever-necessary "business case" for developing interesting software internally. Serviceware allows us to remain a service company and still produce quality software for the average computer user. Has it been profitable? Absolutely not. Are we going to tell the bean counters? Absolutely not.
